Buncrana Music Festival 2018

Buncrana Music Festival 2018

The revival of the Buncrana Music Festival continues this year in what is undoubtedly going to be the biggest year for tourism in Inishowen, and the dates have been announced in advance of what promises to be a spectacular festival.

Featuring

Little Hours, Paddy Casey, The Pop Gods, String Empire

In the run up to the Irish Open 2018 in July, the event will run from Friday 29 June until Saturday night 30th June, with the festival culminating in a huge firework display on Buncrana’s Shore Front.

This year’s festival promises all of the fun from previous years, but on a much grander scale, with family-friendly activities by day, and some of the best up and coming bands that Ireland has produced, performing live on the main stage from 8pm every night of the festival.

Although the headline acts are still to be announced, last year saw Irish music legend Paddy Casey thrilling the crowds, as well as breakthrough act, the Little Hours proving exactly why they have become one of Ireland’s must-see bands, so we wait with baited breath on just who will be dazzling the masses this year.

Apart from the fantastic music at night time, by day, you’ll see everything from buskers to firebreathers, Transformers to music workshops, amazing street food and drink, street theatre and local craft markets, and given the Irish Open is taking place just up the road, no doubt there will be golf-themed events to challenge the wannabe professionals we all know so well!

Accommodation availability is likely to be at a premium, so the organisers are advising anyone intending on travelling to make their bookings now. Ticketing packages are available for the full weekend and tickets go on sale at the end of February, when the full line-up is expected to be known, although you can still pay nightly at the gate as usual.
